Mel Evans Associates Inc., located in midtown Manhattan, was founded in 1986 in order to provide sophisticated recruitment services for our accounting/finance and information technology clientele geographically located in the Tri-State Area. Mel Evans is proud to have built an outstanding reputation based on high integrity, reliability, and professionalism with seasoned personnel. The Mel Evans staff is comprised of CPAs, human resource professionals, and information technology professionals who have transferred into the recruitment business, placing people in diversified industries on a permanent, full-time basis. Mel Evans attracts high-caliber applicants as a result of a three-tier marketing strategy. Our strategy utilizes an existing corporate-wide network of applicant referrals, direct solicitations, and multimedia advertising.
In addition to our permanent placement division, we are affiliated with PRO-FIT, which is headed by Al Galland and offers high-quality temporary and consulting services.
Howard Dickson
Howard graduated from Binghamton University in 1976 with a Bachelor�s Degree in accounting. He joined Prager & Fenton, a CPA firm specializing in the entertainment field, as an auditor. Howard later began recruiting for a major international recruitment firm for more than 10 years and became Vice President in the New York office. Howard cofounded Mel Evans 15 years ago and is currently a Partner.
Marty Friedman
Marty, a CPA, graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1983 with a Bachelor�s Degree in accounting. Following college, Marty joined Ernst & Young as an auditor and then began recruiting for a major international recruitment firm for 5 years, where he became Vice President in the Long Island office. Marty is currently a Partner of Mel Evans where he has been employed for the past 10 years specializing in financial services, such as brokerage and hedge funds.
David Newman
David graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor�s Degree in accounting. He started working at S.D. Leidesdorf & Company as an auditor and soon thereafter moved into the Human Resources Department for an additional 4 years. David became a recruiter, joined one of the largest financial recruitment firms, and became Executive Vice President running the New York office. David has been working at Mel Evans since 1998, primarily servicing the real estate/accounting clientele.
Larry Steinhardt
Larry graduated from Rider University with a Bachelor�s Degree in accounting. Larry joined Ernst & Young as an auditor and then spent the following 20 years as a Human Resources professional managing the Human Resources Department in the New York office. In addition, he founded the Alumni Outplacement Program and was the Human Resources Director for the Healthcare Consulting Practice. Larry joined Mel Evans 7 years ago.
Eric Warner
Eric graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1979 with a degree in computer science and has more than 10 years of programming and project management experience within the information technology field. Eric has been employed by Columbia University, CIT Financial, EF Hutton, and Philip Morris. He has been recruiting information technology professionals for the past 12 years and has been employed by Mel Evans for the past 5 years.
Al Galland
Al, a CPA, is President of PRO-FIT. He graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor�s Degree in economics and received an M.B.A. from Baruch College. He began working in New York�based accounting firms and then for 12 years was CFO and then COO of a major international recruitment firm. Al founded PRO-FIT 11 years ago.
